I only bought mobile broadband for my laptop but as OS X 10.4.11 is causing all sorts of wireless issues I’m configuring it as a back up.
About 1.2 an hour digging around and I’ve come up with this…
1. Install software drivers from here
2. Plug in dongle
3. Run HuaweiDataCardApp and enter ‘three.co.uk’ in APN box (should display an ok message)
4. Open System Preferences->Network (should alert ‘new networks found’)
5. In ‘Automatic’ Location, choose HUAWEI Mobile from ‘Show’ drop down
6. Click ‘Modem’ button
7. Change Modem drop down to Huawei Mobile Connect – 3G MOdem
8. Tick ‘Show modem status in menu bar’
9. ‘Apply Now’
10. Click on modem in status bar and enter:
Telephone Number: *99#
Account Name: guest
Password: three
11. Click ‘Connect’
12. That’s it!
